Eva Voutsaki (1978, Greece)

Untitled
From: Traces Within, 2009

Greek photographer Eva Voutsaki studied photography in England, where she still lives and works as an educator on Subjective Photography and autobiographical storytelling. Her work focusses on mythology, memory, fantasy and the unconscious. The series Traces Within shows images from an anecdote diary filled with spontaneous and accidental photographs that enable the viewer to travel smoothly and secretly into his own memories. Seascapes under the full moon, animals, lonely women and men are transformed into a stream of dislocated and ambiguous images. Her enigmatic images create short, mysterious narratives without beginning or end. But most of all they mesmerize the viewer into drifting away in one own thoughts, dreams and fantasies.
