For the fourth edition of the International Photo Festival Leiden the festival set up a collaboration with the master’s programme Film and Photographic Studies of Leiden University. This program aims to offer students a broad and interdisciplinary theoretical knowledge of lens-based media. Under the supervision of teacher Philipp Goldbach, students of the Master’s program are asked to write essays about the series of the twenty selected photographer of the festival for the course Debates on Documentary Strategies. In these essays they will give a theoretical and critical reflection on the works. The essays will be collected in a publication, which will be sold for a small fee at the festival location.
