The 5th edition of the International Photo Festival Leiden (IPFL) will take place from 9 to 17 May 2020.
Photographers can apply for participation in the festival until 30 November 2019. All photographers who have completed their studies in a photography-related field within the last five years are invited to submit their work. Further information, including the terms of participation, can be found at photofestivalleiden.com
The International Photo Festival Leiden (IPFL) offers European photographers a platform for the first stage of their professional careers. By exposing their work to an international audience, the IPFL creates a high level of publicity. The photographers have the opportunity to show their talent and come into contact with a diverse, photo-loving public from the Netherlands and abroad.
As an initiative of the Foundation for Talented Photographers, founded in 2013, the IPFL takes place every other year. The work of 20 selected IPFL photographers will be shown in a freely accessible open-air exhibition. A jury chaired by Wim van Sinderen – curator at the Fotomuseum Den Haag – selects one of the 20 participants as winner. In addition, the festival also has an audience award.
The work of the selected photographers is exhibited at indoor and outdoor venues in the historic city centre of Leiden. The International Photo Festival Leiden furthermore offers a high-quality fringe program including workshops, lectures and portfolio reviews, to which both photo enthusiasts and professional photographers are warmly invited.
